Argyle, Texas |
City of Argyle, Texas - NCTCOG Denton Independent School District |
|
Six miles south of Denton, and at a point that marks the eastern edge of the famous Chisholm Trail, you will find the tree covered hills of Argyle. Started in 1881 when the Texas and Pacific Rail Line was emerging along the southwestern edge of Denton County, Argyle remains an easily accessible choice from either Fort Worth or Dallas.
This area of towering oak and hickory trees showcases new residential subdivisions under development. Many homes include acreage to provide more of a country estate lifestyle. Although young, Argyle's school system has been ranked as a four star school ~ among the top public elementary ~ schools in the state. While children attend Argyle schools from kindergarten through eighth grade, students may choose between Denton and Northwest ISD for secondary education.   Continued expansion has witnessed a new phase in the wastewater system, improved thoroughfares due to an earlier county bond election, a city pride task force that promotes community activities and a city hall government that sponsors quarterly town hall meetings. |
